Introduction
VRF has received a donation of $931 from Parishioners at Horsham Parish in the UK. As at July 19, the funds are equivalent to CFA 553,014 at an exchange rate (wise.com) of 594F per USD. The funds have been earmarked for support of female victims of the Southern Cameroons conflict who have suffered displacement. The funds will primarily go towards assisting with the starting up or growing an existing expanding venture.
Background
It is estimated that over 1.2 million people have been displaced by the ongoing conflict since it escalated in 2017. A majority of those individuals are women and children whose husbands have been killed and homes burnt down and whose means of livelihood have been destroyed.
Scope
This project will target IDP women in a single community in one of the towns inside Southern Cameroons to minimize overhead costs. A maximum of 5 women will receive assistance. Assistance per individual will not exceed 100,000 CFA. Priority will be given to women who are heads of households and who have no other means of livelihood.
